Enough with the political theater in our courtrooms!
It's time for change in Colorado's 4th Judicial District
A politically-driven District Attorney makes political statements like "tough on crime" and "evil" this and "evil" that because he thinks it works with voters.
A politically-driven District Attorney chases media attention by putting himself at the center of high profile cases.
A politically-driven District Attorney obsesses about trial win/loss records instead of focusing on pursuing justice in every case.
Every time our District Attorney walks into a courtroom he is putting politics and re-election ahead of the pursuit of justice.
This is both unwise and unnecessary.
The elected District Attorney's job is to leave the courtroom to his prosecutors so he can focus on:
Creating a Smart on Crime culture in the District Attorney's Office that takes the mandate to pursue justice seriously
Collaborating with community leaders to explore new and better ways to reduce crime
Supporting programs that are working to successfully reintegrate individuals released from prison back into our community
Hiring smart, effective, and experienced prosecutors and trusting them to resolve their cases without worrying about political fallout
